Nigel will be playing Creon, king of Corinth in Manitoba Theatre Centre’s production of “Medea”. Written by Euripides, this ancient Greek tragedy centers on the myth of Jason, leader of the Argonauts, who has won the dragon-guarded treasure of the Golden Fleece with the help of the sorceress Medea. Having married Medea and fathered her two children, Jason abandons her for a more favorable match, never suspecting the terrible revenge she will take.
The play opens on November 20th and runs through December 13th. In January and February 2009, the production is scheduled to move to the Canon Theatre in Toronto (Jan 9 - Feb 8 ).

Back into the genre, but on the other side: Nigel is playing vampire hunter Dr. Simon Polidori in the feature film “Eternal Kiss”.
Written, produced and directed by Paul Kimball, “Eternal Kiss” tells the story of David Manners, a thirty-something filmmaker from the small seaside town of Harker’s Cove who gets more than he bargained for when he sets out to make a documentary about people who believe in the existence of vampires… and finds himself the target of media mogul Elisabeth Langstrom, a very real vampire who is convinced that David is her soul-mate.
Production is scheduled to wrap up this week. Release is planned for summer 2009.

John Walker’s documentary drama “Passage” will screen at the Hot Docs Festival in Toronto on April 20 and 23. Based on the lives of Dr. John Rae, explorer for the Hudson’s Bay Company, and Sir John Franklin, British Royal Navy officer and leader of an ill-fated 1840s Arctic expedition, the film follows a trail from London to the Orkney Islands to Nunavut, elegantly slipping between past and present, drama and documentary, observational and self-reflexive cinema, to present the forces that made Franklin a hero and banished Rae to the margins of history.
Nigel plays the part of Sir James Graham.
