Robert Merritt Awards

The ATF production “Noises Off” received four Merritt Awards:

Actor in a Leading Role: Graham Percy
Actress in a Supporting Role: Patricia Zentilli
Set Design: Neil Peter Jampolis
Costume Design: Patrick Clark

Nigel had received two Merritt Award nominations:

1. Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for his role as George in “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” (Neptune Theatre)
2. Outstanding Direction for “Noises Off” (Atlantic Theatre Festival)

“Noises Off” received eight nominations altogether, including Outstanding Production.

The 8th Annual Robert Merritt Awards, recognizing outstanding achievement in professional theatre in Nova Scotia, were handed out on March 19th.

Atlantic Theatre Festival 2007

The ATF in Wolfville has announced its 2007 season with three plays scheduled from July 12 to Sept. 30.

“Shirley Valentine”, by Willy Russell runs from July 17 to August 24, “The Drawer Boy” by Michael Healey runs from July 24 to September 9 and Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” runs from August 28 to September 30.

Nigel will direct “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.

Furthermore, his contract as Artistic Director has been extended to 2010.
